The Journey of a Lifetime

An amazing journey through India combining all the elements to create a life -changing experience

Day 1. (26th Feb) Arrive in Delhi. You will be met at the international airport and we’ll transfer to downtown Delhi and to our hotel. Our evening excursion is to a live music concert/cultural event. Day 2. (27th Feb) Morning tour by former street child on behalf of charity Salaam Balaak. Afternoon exploration of Imperial New Delhi & Gandhi's Smitri where he spent the last months of his life and where he was shot. It offers an amazing opportunity to understand how Gandhi, a yogi in the truest sense, led a life of ahimsa (non-violence) and through dharma, devotion & commitment created unity to overcome a tyrannous British regime. Day 3. (28th Feb) A day to enjoy and explore Delhi at your leisure. Overnight train to Haridwar Day 4. (29th Feb) We arrive in Haridwar and take a taxi to Rishikesh, at the mouth of the Ganges, foothills of the Himalaya. We check into ashram, visit the orphanage, dip in the Ganges and go to a sunset fire and chanting ceremony on the Ganges. Days 5-11. (1-7 March) The 7 day International Yoga Festival begins with renowned teachers and students from all over the world. All types of yoga are taught: vinyasa, power, kundalini (with Gurumukh), jivamukti, Iyengar, yoga nidra, meditation, ashtanga, pranayama, ayurveda, astrology, yoga nidra, Indian classical dance, bhangra, reiki etc. At dusk each evening there are prayers on the Ganges. Day 12. (8th March) We enjoy a day in Rishikesh, then travel to by taxi Haridwar and take overnight train to Amritsar and the Golden Temple. Day 13. (9th March) Check into hotel. We visit the langar hall and eat lunch with the Sikh pilgrims and in the late afternoon we head to the India-Pakistan border for the border closing ceremony. Day 14. (10th March) We rise before dawn to sacred chanting and the parade of the Sikh's guru. In the evening we return to Delhi. 11th March. Depart.
